Terms
Updated October 24, 2026
By using Bookends you agree to these terms.
The game
Bookends is a free word game made by an individual. It is not a company product.
Conduct
- Play fairly. No harassment, threats or unlawful content in names, words or reactions.
- Do not attack or overload the site or its relay services, or access other people's rooms or saves.
- Rooms are not private. See the Privacy page.
Your progress
Progress lives on your device and, if you sign in, in a cloud record tied to your Google account. It can be lost. Clearing data, losing a device or deleting the record removes it.
Third parties
The game depends on GitHub Pages, public relay servers, Google Fonts and, optionally, Google and Firebase. They have their own terms and can go down.
No warranty
Provided as is. No guarantee it works, stays available, or that the word list is complete or correct.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any loss, including lost progress, from using the game.
Changes
These terms may change. Continued use means you accept them.
